Introduction

Alloy Steel 20 fasteners, commonly referred to as Carpenter 20 fasteners, are engineered for use in highly corrosive environments. These fasteners are austenitic, nickel-iron-chromium-based alloys with additions of copper and molybdenum, making them ideal for applications involving sulfuric acid and other aggressive chemicals. Chemical Composition and Properties

The unique composition of Alloy Steel 20 includes approximately 32–38% nickel, 19–21% chromium, 2–3% molybdenum, and 3–4% copper, along with small amounts of iron, manganese, and niobium. This alloy is specifically designed to resist pitting, crevice corrosion, and chloride stress corrosion cracking. It performs well in both acidic and neutral environments, which makes it a reliable choice for industrial-grade fastening solutions.
